Welcome!

Thanks for joining us on this exciting new journey. My name is Steven Llewellyn, I’m the main writer and contributor to the Bad Idol Biker Blog.
This site is for anyone, like me who is obsessed with riding motorbikes and bike related culture. It’s about shared experiences and growing a community of like-minded people. I’ll be posting about trips I’ve done and places I recommend, gear I’ve used and reviewed, biker culture old and new, biker art and interviews with as many influential people in the global biker community as will give me their time.
I’ve been into bikes for many, many years and like a lot of people riding, Ewen McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s Long Way Round was a massive inspiration for me to pursue this wonderful past time. But it began before that. Hazy memories of watching Brando in Wild One and who could forget Steve McQueen ride his beautiful Triumph across the fields to escape the Nazis in Great Escape. There was something incredibly exciting and enticing about the idea of being on a motorbike.
After a short flirt with a friend’s Honda CBR and a week long trip around Munar in Kerala on a Royal Enfield (more on that later) I was hooked and it was time to finally pull the trigger and get my license. In 2022 I passed my full UK bike license and a few months later I bought a 2013 custom Triumph Bonneville. I still have her, she’s a beaut!
I’ve had many adventures on that bike and am about to embark on many, many more. I hope you’ll be along for the ride!
